Needle Felting 101: Flowering Succulents Workshop

Looking for a creative night out that’s equal parts relaxing and satisfying? Join us for an introduction to needle felting, where soft wool transforms into sculptural magic. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll create your own blooming succulent, no watering, sunlight, or survival skills required.

Yes, this is a plant you make and yet cannot kill. 💚

🌸 What You’ll Do

  • Learn the basics of needle felting and how to shape wool into 3D forms

  • Sculpt your own flowering succulent from a selection of designs

  • Build your piece in a terracotta pot with wool “soil”

  • Leave with a finished, display-ready plant that will thrive forever (unlike that basil from last summer)

🎨 All Materials Provided

We’ve got everything ready for you:

  • Felting needles and wool in a variety of colors

  • Felting pads and finger protectors

  • Terracotta pot for your finished piece

Just bring yourself, we’ll handle the rest. No green thumb required.

👥 Who Can Join?

  • Ages 12+

    • Participants under 18 must attend with a guardian (ticket required for both)

  • No experience needed: perfect for total beginners

🧃 Additional Details

  • 🕕 3-hour evening workshop (6:00–9:00 PM)

  • 🍹 BYOB — feel free to bring drinks or snacks

✨ Why Join?

Whether you’re treating yourself, bringing a friend, or getting a jump on Mother’s Day gifting, this workshop is a sweet way to make something meaningful (and actually finish it). Gift the experience, or create a handmade succulent that a special person in your life will love.

Slow down, get hands-on, and leave with a charming plant that will never wilt, fade, or judge your watering habits, to keep or give!

🌸 About Your Instructor

Kristin Roadhouse ofRoadhouse Creatives is a lifelong creative who’s been calling Austin home for the past 13 years (with roots in Missoula, Montana!). While she dabbles in all kinds of making, she fell headfirst into needle felting a few years ago after receiving a “needle felt your pet” kit and hasn’t looked back since.

These days, Kristin creates everything from laser-cut keychains to delightfully detailed felted creatures, and she brings that same curiosity, humor, and enthusiasm into every class. Get ready to learn, laugh, and maybe become a little obsessed yourself. ✨
