Curious about sewing but not ready to commit to a big project? Or just want a fun, creative night out where you actually make something? This hands-on Make and Take Sewing Workshop is the perfect low-pressure intro to sewing machine magic, guided by expert instructor Vanessa of Ronkita Design.
✨ What You’ll Do
Learn the basics of using a sewing machine in a friendly, supportive setting
Choose one project to make at the start of class:
Small tote bag
Drink koozie
Drink coasters
Practice foundational sewing skills you can build on at home
Leave with a finished, functional project you made yourself
🧵 All Materials Provided
Sewing machines ready to go
Fabric, thread, and all necessary tools
Step-by-step instruction and guidance throughout class
No experience required. Just show up ready to try something new.

🌸 About Your Instructor
Vanessa of Ronkita Design has over 20 years of experience teaching sewing to kids and adults of all skill levels. She teaches locally in Austin and virtually nationwide, is a sewing instructor at Austin Community College, and serves on the Fashion Design Advisory Committee. A full-time designer and seamstress, Vanessa works across fashion, adaptable clothing, wearable tech, decor, and accessories. She also speaks conversational Spanish, French, and Ukrainian, creating a welcoming learning environment for students from all backgrounds.
