Darn That Sock! Intro to Knitwear Repair

Discover the old-school art of darning and give your favorite knitwear a colorful new life! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to weave vibrant patches that repair holes and reinforce worn spots in socks, sweaters, and other garments. It’s the perfect way to mix sustainability with creativity — no experience required.

🌟 What You’ll Do

  • Learn techniques for reinforcing and repairing knitwear

  • Explore different threads and yarns for various fabrics

  • Practice weaving colorful patches to mend holes and worn areas

  • Get tips for sourcing and reusing upcycled materials

  • Leave with your own personalized darning kit and plenty of inspiration to keep going at home

🎨 All Materials Provided

  • Practice samples for learning and experimentation

  • Threads, yarns, and darning tools

  • A take-home kit with materials and printed instructions

  • You’re welcome to bring a knit item of your own to repair, but it’s not required

  • Any one ages 15+

  • Beginner-friendly — no prior sewing or mending experience needed

  • Perfect for anyone curious about sustainable fashion and textile care
